I want to trade for more supplies to mend clothes, and a new scarf. Black or the darkest blue you can find.

I should be glad to mend them for you at no greater cost, but I'm sure I can find you a set of needles as well as any thread you require. I have many black fabrics; may I ask if you have any other preferences for your scarf? Would you like it to be very warm, or lightweight, for the summer?

I don't want to leave them to be mended, I have needles, I just need thread and more material for patches.

I don't need the scarf for warmth, just to keep dust and other things away from my mouth and nose when necessary.
